St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School – Graduated 2007
Catherine was an exemplary student during her time at St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School. She provided excellent leadership as team lead on the mock trial competition team for two years. After graduating from St. Dominic, Catherine received a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree from the University of Guelph, majoring in criminal justice and public policy, and minoring in psychology. She then graduated from the University of Western Ontario’s Faculty of Law program in 2014, and passed her bar exams in June 2014.
For two summers Catherine spent her time working with the District of Muskoka Community Services Department, assisting low-income individuals and participating in community outreach. During her three years at Western University, she volunteered with Pro Bono Students Canada, assisting legal aid clients, preparing family court documents and representing clients in criminal court proceedings.
Currently, Catherine works with a family law sole practitioner in Orillia who provides a number of unbundled legal services.
Catherine’s involvement in St. Dominic’s law classes, mock trials, and co-op placement with a crown attorney helped her choose her career path. Catherine says, “The compassion and empathy I developed during my time at St. Dominic has shaped the way I interact with the world and drives me to be a better person every day.”
