Holy Trinity Catholic High School – Graduated 2008

During his time at Holy Trinity, Eric developed an interest in community level health, marginalized populations, and philanthropy which led to his desire to pursue his post-secondary education at Queen’s University. He not only received his Bachelors of Arts degree in Physical Health Education (Honours), but also spent time volunteering with Queen’s Chapter of Free the Children and Keep a Child Alive. Most notably, he was a Peer Educator on Queen’s Health Outreach and travelled to Mishkeegogomang First Nation to teach elementary students about health.

Eric was given the exciting opportunity to gain international academic experience when he spent a semester abroad at Herstmonceux Castle, a Queen’s University Campus in the United Kingdom.

Eric was part of the inaugural class of the program Interdisciplinary Studies in Global Health and Disability and engaged with academics from around the globe, travelling to visit the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the International Committee of the Red Cross, among others in Geneva, Switzerland.

Upon graduating, Eric was able to share his experiences and provide guidance to future graduating students when he was an Admissions Representative for Queen’s University undergraduate programs. He shares that, “it was Holy Trinity that stood as the example of what a community should look and feel like. It was this atmosphere – the students, the building, the educators – that helped to encourage my further involvement in community development initiatives, health education, and thinking about our world with a global, holistic perspective.”

Most recently, Eric has completed his Master’s degree in Health Inequalities and Public Policy at the University of Edinburgh.
