Yoga, pilates, and movement expertise - these three things make Vancouver-based physiotherapist and Our Lady of the Bay graduate Shayne’s road to recovery unique, long-lasting, and beneficial for her clients.

Shayne Casey-Shaw is a physiotherapist, clinical Pilates instructor, and yoga teacher from Blue Mountain, Ontario. After graduating from Our Lady of the Bay Catholic High School, Shayne moved to Vancouver to study kinesiology at the University of British Columbia. It was the perfect setting to combine her love of learning and her passion for athletics such as hiking, mountain biking, and climbing.

Shayne was the original founding member of the UBC Chapter of SisuGirls. This group empowers women and girls. It cultivates bravery, courage, and resolve, through outdoor adventure activities. SisuGirls allowed Shayne to serve her community as a leader, inspiring resilience and strength in others. The group remains active today. Shayne has left a magnificent legacy.

Shayne graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy degree from UBC in 2019. Since then, she has been working as a registered physiotherapist in Vancouver. Shayne completed additional training in clinical Pilates, and developed a unique approach to recovery. Patients benefit from her yoga, Pilates, and movement expertise.

Shayne has fond memories of her time at Our Lady of the Bay. “I acknowledge my high school experience as being the first time in my life when I started to believe in my potential. Thanks to the teachers, coaches, mentors, and peers who inspired me to dare greatly in sport, academia, and life.”
