Dr. Brittney Parlett

St. Dominic Catholic Secondary School

Graduated 2004

Secured one of only six residency spots in obstetrics and gynecology

Brittney Parlett was born and raised in Bracebridge, where she attended Monsignor Michael O’Leary Catholic School and St.Dominic Catholic Secondary School.

Her time at St. Dominic helped solidify her love of science and eventually led her to a career in medicine. In addition to her keen focus on academics, Brittney spent the majority of her extracurricular time training and competing as a figure skater. She also volunteered with the CanSkate and KidSkate training programs in Bracebridge.

Following graduation, Brittney attended the University of Western Ontario and completed her Bachelor of Medical Sciences, specializing in physiology and pharmacology.

She was accepted to the Northern Ontario School of Medicine in Sudbury and graduated in the spring of 2012. Brittney was fortunate to secure one of only six residency spots in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Western Ontario – in her field there are only 94 residency spots across Canada.

Brittney tells us, “my 14 years in the Catholic education system played a large role in my development. I was very fortunate to have excellent teachers who took the time to provide guidance and challenge me. I believe my experiences during these years helped me maximize my potential and put me on the road to where I am today!”
