Kyle Marcelli

St. Joseph’s Catholic High School

Graduated 2009

One of North America’s rising stars in professional auto racing

Kyle began pursuing his career in auto racing at the young age of 11. After a successful karting and single-seater career, Kyle made his rookie debut at the pinnacle level of professional sports car racing in 2010. He earned 20 pole positions, 24 race wins and 62 podiums in 119 professional races and established himself as a force to be reckoned with on racetracks around the world.

In the prototype category, Kyle has built a reputation of being a consistent front-runner – earning six pole positions, six wins, 18 podiums and seven fastest race laps. In 2011, he was also awarded the Michelin “Driver Of The Year.” Most recently, Kyle was signed by Scuderia Corsa, a prominent Ferrari racing team.

With success also came a lot of sacrifice – which he admits was difficult to face during his formative high school years. Kyle was faced with a demanding racing schedule, which affected his social life and made it tough to maintain his high academic goals.

He relied heavily on the support of his teachers and principal to help him accomplish his dreams and also achieve academic success.”High school was important to me and my family – my father insisted that I have good grades in school or I would not be racing.”

Kyle continues to achieve success on and off of the racetrack. Still a resident of Barrie, Ontario, Kyle volunteers in the community and is an advocate for the charity Your Life Counts, which has a mission to help youth and families nurture, protect and sustain their will to live. Kyle is a consummate professional and always strives to represent his passion, sport, team and fans proudly and with enthusiasm.
